Q: I feel so overwhelmed in my home. Can you really help me?
A: You are not alone! Most people have places in their home that they feel embarrassed for others to see, and it can be very intimidating to tackle those challenges alone. The things around you are either contributing to the function and beauty of the home or creating mess and stress. If you are ready and willing to let go of things that are not creating a sense of peace and serenity, I'm sure I can help.
Q: What will be involved in this process?
A: The most important thing to know is that the client is an active hands-on participant in the process. Decisions must be made according to your comfort level, and vision for the home. During our session, I offer suggestions, keep us focused, and help decide what to keep and what to give away as a blessing to someone else.
Q: How much will it cost?
A: My hourly service rate is $50/hour with a 3 hour minimum. If your areas of concern are small, you may only need 1 session. For larger projects, your best option will be one of my pre-paid packages, which can be used over several appointments.
(see Services)
Q: What do I need to do to be ready for a session?
A: No, you don’t need to “clean up” in advance, but please have trash bags and/or empty boxes that can be used. We'll also need space for sorting, so if you have folding tables or TV trays, that will be helpful. For more severe messes, gloves & masks may be needed.
Q: How long will it take?
A: Because every project is unique, there is no simple formula to answer that question. I can tell you that the faster we can sort and purge, the faster the
process will go, and results will be seen and felt more quickly. You would be surprised at how much can be done in just a few hours when we work together!
Q: What if I only have a few hours at a time?
A: I offer pre-paid packages for clients who know they need several hours of service, but can only fit small organizing sessions into their busy schedule. I require a minimum of 3 hours per session. Depending on your budget and schedule we may need to end our work session before a project is finished, but I will still make every effort to leave you, the client, with a sense of accomplishment at the end of each session.
Q: My home is already in order. Can I hire you to help someone else?
A: This is a very sensitive area and not always a good idea, because sometimes
people who need the most help are the ones who are most reluctant! The best advice for this scenario is to gently communicate your concerns to your friend/family member. You could make an offer to a loved one to purchase my services, and if that offer is accepted, we may need some of your input. Ultimately, I will need to meet and work directly with the friend/family member, allowing them to make decisions that will make them most comfortable. Ideally, this person will be open to the process and decide on their own that they are ready for professional help. Keep in mind that the organizing process is a deeply personal one. Of course, you have the best intentions for your loved ones, but the gesture of purchasing my services will only be effective and well received if your friend/family member is truly open to making significant changes. In other words - if the person you have in mind is not on board, save your money!
